Problems that SMEs face in Gujarat:
There is necessity to pressurize the Central Government for allocation of Gas for industrial use in Gujarat. The State Government is taking various initiatives to strengthen various industrial segments in Gujarat. There is necessity to curb the interest rates for MSMEs charged by the Commercial Banks.

Regarding the work from Govt. Sectors, all Tenders should be available through Gujarat Government web site which is no the case at present. Large Companies in Gujarat are not advertising their requirements through Gujarat Government web site.

Tighter Control on: Central Excise, Income Tax, P.F./ E.S.I. are harassing Small Units.
Activities Undertaken by FSSI:
Established in 1956, FSSI is a service organization for the benefit of Small Scale Industries. FSSI has come a long way in providing a platform to small scale units in the state. In addition to providing critical and necessary inputs to the units for countering their short and long term problems, it has also endeavored to act as abridge between the industry and the authorities. Over 54 years down the line, the federation has tried every bit to come to the rescue of the small scale units despite a general indifference from the authorities. Unfortunately, despite repeated representations, the years of mindset, rooted deeply in the establishment remains firmly entrenched in saddle. We at the federation believe that it is time to change and accept the new realities of business so that the small scale industry is revived and flourishes.

FSSI has seen 55 eventful years of pro-active functioning in and around Vadodara Region, projecting, promoting and protecting the interests of SMEs in general and of members SMEs in particular is our motto, and we provide necessary service inputs to them to achieve the motto.
