Problems that SMEs face in my State:

The Chandigarh Administration is very rigid, also in terms of support to the Industry. Where the SMEs are concerned, it has rather a negative approach towards development of Industries here.
The Industrial Plots on leasehold that were allotted over in last 30 years has not been allowed to be transferred till date despite being in the lock-in period of 15 years. The Administration has not formulated any policy in spite of our follow up. It has not been supportive of the Entrepreneurs. The Administration has come out with new Estate Rules in the year 2009 which are rather strict on the SMEs. Also the activities as defined under the MSMED Act 2006 are not being allowed in the dedicated Industrial Areas.
Activities undertaken by Chamber of Chandigarh Industries:
We have taken up the issues and difficulties of the Member units with the various Government Departments on top priority, and redress them.
We organize various technical Seminars, interaction, technical sessions that are held from time to time. Apart from that we also do Buyer-Seller Meets with the major units of the region. Customer Meets with various Banks are also held. Industrial Tours are also organized especially for members to participate in various Fairs or Exhibitions that are held in other states as well as in foreign locations.  Being a member of organizations like CII & PHD, our Association is actively involved in taking up the issues involving in Policy making of the Govt.
We also engage in various Social responsibilities: we have the Annual Blood Donation Camp wherein employers, employees & their families actively participate. Apart from that we also have the ‘Fellowship Get-togethers’ for families which is held regularly .During any situation of Natural Calamity in the country, the Chamber is always active and contributes regularly to such issues.

My role and responsibilities as a President:

To conduct monthly Executive Committee Meetings . And General House Meetings each quarter.
To attend the meeting of various Advisory Committees of the Govt. & Administration , both at State level and under the Centre.

Future plans for 2012:
